Answer: You probably have an infection. An antibiotic ointment like Neo-sporin or Bacitration can help it get better. Dip your earring post in it, so it coats your pierced hole. I am allergic to metals, and often used to get infected in my ear piercings. I found that I can wear earrings that are NICKEL Free. You can ask for Nickel free earrings in stores. I learned about it at JC Penney. I think Kmart and other stores should know about this also. They are not too expensive. I learned that many people are allergic to nickel, which is in most metals. Don't just buy any cheap earrings. I have heard of people who are unable to wear any earrings at all because of metal allergies, but give it time to heal. I suggest trying nickel free earrings.
